Study On The Key Issues Of ASON And Its Practical Applications

This dissertation studies the key issues of automatically switched optical networks (ASON) and its practical in telecommunications engineering. The work is carried out based on LambdaUnite MSS equipment. Firstly, we analyzed the market requirement, discussed the development in optical networking technology and features in telecommunications traffics. Intellectualization is the inevitable trends of future networking technologies. Detailed study on ASON's function layer, link type, connectivity and signaling, etc is carried out by introducing the basic definition, the technical merit. We present in detail the corresponding functions in the Optical Network Navigation System (ONNS). The author was engaged in the design and implementation of a practical ASON networking engineering. Based on this network, a lot of test were carried out and the measurement results were analyzed. The tested results show that the work in this dissertation is valid. It can provide advice for future applications of ASON networks.
