This thesis studied the major design and realization for embedded product Cable Modem. Directing the develop state of Community Antenna Television network and user's request of high-speed connection, access Internet over Cable Modem and Community Antenna Television network , as one of the new high-speed connection mode, are being attent more and more .Firstly, this thesis introduced the concept of embedded system , characteristics and develop foreground , analyzed the feasibility that implement high-speed connection with Community Antenna Television network , Discussed the function and theory of operation, process of operation of Cable Modem that developed in this base, and union the case that developed of HFC network, put forward a application solution for develop Cable Modem product base on DOCSIS.This system adopts the special chip-BCM3345 that made by Broadcom corp., union the RTOS of pSOSystem, discussed the application solution from both hardware and software.This thesis discussed the characteristic and system config of pSOSystem, and according to the functional requirement of Cable Modem, cut out and config the function module of operating system.
