The principle, linchpin technologies and flow of the MPEG-1 layerâ…¢audio encode algorithm are discussed in detail in this paper. The realization and optimization of LAME MP3 audio encode algorithm are also introduced in this paper.The primary contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, the principle of MP3 audio encode algorithm is introduced. At first, summarization of MPEG-1 standard is discussed. And then the pivotal technologies of modules of the algorithm are expatiated. At last the file format of MP3 is introduced.Secondly, the flow and composition of LAME is discussed. LAME is a idiographic audio encode algorithm. At first the idiographic algorithm choice is determined with spectrum test and listen test. And then the flow and pivotal technologies of LAME are introduced. At last the composition and realization under Visual C++ of LAME is illuminated.Thirdly, the hardware realization on DSP chips is researched. At first features and block diagram of ADSP BF-533 is introduced. And then the inside structure of this chip is explained. At last Analog Device DSP development tools- Visual DSP++ and the realization of LAME on BF-533 is expanded.Finally, the optimization of LAME is introduced. At first the simplification of LAME is discussed, including projects conformity and encode part peel-back. And then the performance test is done to determine modules and functions which can be optimized. At last optimization of LAME is introduced, comparison of performance after optimization is presented.
