Research And Application Of Boiler's 3D Visualization Based On VRML

Due to its prominent interactive Machine-User interface and marvelous immersing feelings, Virtual Reality emerged from 90s' impacts the way of conventional thinking. At the same time the development of network again made it infinite to postpone the exhibition on the space. Virtual Reality Modeling Language integrating Virtual Reality technique and network emerges with the tide of the times. Then Virtual Reality system based on above techniques has been being a hot field.When a boiler is installed or running, it's inner instruction and the status of each equipment are invisible. As a thermal power professional teacher, in the process of actual teaching, I feel that the students are lack of the sensibility cognition about boiler, so I decide to make "Research on the visualization of boiler's 3D structure based on VRML" as my master thesis task. At first, this paper has introduced the development situation of the thermal system's modeling and simulation at present. Then the concept of virtual reality and its application advantage are introduced. VRML is a kind of language based on text, similar with the super HTML language. Compared with other 3D modeling language, VRML has the advantage of combining IE browser well in developing network courseware with 3D structure based on Web, can establish a very strong man-machine interface with the sense of reality, immerse and interaction. And because the VRML is simple, the amount that transmits through network is small, a lot of interactive procedures finished on the customer point, these have lightened the load of the server and alleviated the pressure of width of the network. It's very important that the network width is not very well at present.To realize this network courseware system, the first problem should be solved is the establishment of 3D virtual equipment models.
