Application And Research Of Data Mining On Employment Management Information System In University

China has been increasing the number of recruiting students in university since 1999 according to the policy of turning elite education into universal education proposed by ministry of education. The students, whose number grows rapidly, bring much problem to the student management. The managers more and more realize the complexity of management and are hard to anticipate the students' development. So, it becomes inevitably to use the management information system to manage the students' information. It can not just simply backup and query the vast data and should support decision-making.The main contributions of this paper are as follows:1) The on-line graduate management system is designed and implemented in order to solve the problem encountered during managing the graduate information of Zhejiang University of Technology, which makes the abundant, repeated and multifarious work done automatically and orderly by computer, provide the employment information dynamically and exactly, thus guarantee the management quality in employment and provide a management and process platform of employment information, highly digital, standard and scientific.2) If the number of data and scale of database grows sharply, the query and searching system and statistical method of traditional database management system can not meet the needs because the management system is query-driven. So, Decision Tree, one of the data mining methods, is introduced in this paper to analyze the data in this employment management system, discover the influence produced by some decision attributes, thus support decision-making for the leaders of college and university in the following aspects: improving the rate of employment, level of employment and current cultivating system.
