Research And Implementation Of Telecommunication Network Management System Testing

TNMS (Telecommunication Network Management System) is an important method to assure a stable, efficient and safe telecommunication network. With the wide use of TNMS, The requirement on its quality is enhancing rapidly. Testing is a key factor to ensure the quality of TNMS, so the research on test method for TNMS in both theoretical and practical terms is necessary.The former part of this paper presents a new approach to test TNMS after thoroughly analyzed the present software testing methodology, test flows and the characters of TNMS. This method demonstrates the test flow of TNMS, and the description focuses on the test method used in unit testing period, integration testing period and system testing period. The latter part of the paper shows a practical application based on China Telecom Long-distance Switched Telephone Network Management System. It has been proved that this method can locate various problems in the development process of TNMS effectively. The reliability, capability and simplicity of TNMS will be much improved if we give a proper solution to the located problems. Some aspects that need further investigation are mentioned at the end.
