With the development of data service, The NGN(Next Generation Network) becomes the direction. The NGN adapts the layered structure as service layer, control layer, media transport layer and access layer. In NGN network, Parlay/OSA(Open Service Access) Gateway is a function entity in service layer which enables application developers to make use of network functionality through an open standardised interface. Parlay/OSA Gateway hides complexity and difference of lower level network, provides APIs for application server and 3 rd service to control lower level network elements. Meanwhile, SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) becomes important call control protocol in NGN. So taking them together and implementation SIP Mapping Subsystem are great significative.Parlay/OSA Gateway composes of framework subsystem, service capability subsystem, potocol subsystem, network management subsystem and OAM subsystem. Service capability subsystem provides standardised Parlay/OSA APIs. 3GPP 29.198-4 defined architecture of MPCC SCF(Multi-party call control Service Capability Feature). And 3GPP 29.998-04 investigates how Parlay/OSA API can be mapped onto SIP methods. Potocol subsystem implements the adapter layer of lower level network.During researching I was in charge of designing and implementing the SIP Mapping Subsystem which takes the mapping between SIP and Parlay/OSA API including SIP conception mapping, SIP call control mapping and SIP message parameter mapping. The subsystem is compose of SIP Server and MPCC SCF. SIP Server supplies the adapter layer of...
