OSA/Parlay (Open Service Architecture based on Parlay Protocol) is the one of technologies that realize the intelligent service of NGN (Next Generation Network). OSA/Parlay is composed of ParlayGW (Parlay Gateway) and ParlayAPP (Parlay Application), and defines a series of standard API (Application Program interface). In the open service architecture, ParlayGW is utilized to abstract the sub-layer network and shield off the complexity of network. ParlayAPP is a container of service, which takes charge of creating and processing the service logic. It controls the interaction of signaling or media between ParlayGW and soft-switch server by calling the Parlay API, then uses the abundance resource supplied by existing sub-layer network to implement the intelligent service. Now, How to use the Parlay API to realize the ParlayAPP has become the focus of communication field.During the process of design and development of application server software in the OSA/Parlay, the open service architecture and relative theory is researched deeply, then the OSA/Parlay system is studied, and analysis of the deficiencies existing in developing intelligent service for next generation network is proposed. Based on this, a scheme of ParlayAPP based on SDK (Service Develop Kit) is proposed, which uses layer framework and module design. Firstly, the design and realization of communication between ParlayAPP and ParlayGW introduces the CORBA middleware. Then, the mechanism driven by the message and the scheme of logic-factory used by SDK are described in detail.Based on the ParlayAPP, the LingTong secretary service is accomplished. Now, this service is used commercially on a large scale.The ParlayAPP proposed by author reduces the complication of development of NGN service effectively, and meets the requirement of user with favorable expansibility.
