NGN achieves the goal of separation of service and control through open serviceinterface, which makes the development of services independent of the detailedtechnologies of telecommunication, thus becomes a research hotspot in thecommunication industry. Parlay/OSA APIs which are open, secure and independentnext generation network APIs have most important affect in the telecom industry atpresent. They reduce the complexity of developing services for third-party serviceproviders.However, Parlay APIs only involve in the interfaces opened to the third-party andthey don't care the issue of services publishing, discovery and binding mechanismswhich are order to implement open service capability. The next generation networkservices platform is needed when it's carrying on the actual services developmentbased on Parlay/OSA standard. The next generation network services platform targetsall operators' need to create and launch services with the most modern technologiesfor telecom networks. The platform provides a comprehensive set of utilities thatfacilitates creation, testing, deployment and management of services as well assecurity, management access and other execution environment features. The analysisand research on next generation network services platform and services developmenttechnologies based on it have important project significance on actual servicesdevelopment, testing and deployment.The paper takes the Parlay/OSA standard as a starting point, first introduces theParlay/OSA system architecture, the running mechanism and analyzes its servicesystem architecture. After that, the paper thoroughly studies the Parlay/OSApublishing, discovery and binding mechanisms. The internal relationship betweenParlay/OSA and Web Services is discovered by studying the publishing, discoveryand binding mechanisms of Parlay/OSA Web Services. The processes and features ofthe mechanisms of Parlay X Web Services are also analyzed. A Parlay X SMSpublishing, discovery and binding mechanisms example is given. The conclusion is drawn that use Web Services as Parlay/OSA service publishing, discovery andbinding mechanisms is easier than CORBA on service development and deployment.Then the paper studies the Parlay X Web Services and analyzes its architecture,service providing capabilities and service descriptions and service development model,etc. Also the paper analyzes the disadvantage of Parlay X Web Service and itsimprovement in practical application. Lastly, the paper selects and studies theAppium-XWay next generation network services platform. The system environmentand system architecture of the platform are analyzed in detail. The modules andcomponents which are needed in Parlay X service development are also studied.Taking Third Party Call service as an example, the paper expatiates the servicedevelopment and implementation technologies, the Third Party Call service prototypesystem is implemented using the Appium-XWay service platform. The superiority thattakes Web Services as service publishing, discovery and binding mechanisms isproved, and the methods that help developers rapidly develop, test and deploy ParlayX services are provided too, which have important project reference value.
