Nowadays, the development of value-added mobile services such as SMS, MMS, WAP-PUSH is in a booming state world-widely. Especially SMS has already been one of the most popular ways for contact. However most of these mobile services are still provided to the personal clients, not to the enterprises. The enterprises applications today just focus on the SMS industry market with very simple functions, and the MMS and WAP-PUSH service are ignored. According to this, a new solution is proposed by National Labs of Switching & Networks of Beijing University of Posts & Telecommunications. The solution introduces a new system named SMS/MMS Assistant System (SMAS), which implements SMS/MMS enterprise application on Internet. Compared to other solutions, SMAS is an integrated support platform for value-added mobile services, which can support MMS and WAP-PUSH applications and provides many kinds of characteristic functions for enterprise clients. The content of this thesis is all about SMAS. Firstly, it introduces the development trend of value-added mobile services such as SMS, MMS, WAP-PUSH. Secondly, it describes the requirement analysis, function design and service flow. The third part is the system design, including the system layers and software structure. And then it presents the two main modules in detail, one is WWWServer, and the other is Service Transaction Unit (STU). These two parts refers to many technologies such as MVC (Model-View-Controller), Connection Pool, Finite Automata Machine, Sliding Window and so on. Finally, it summarizes the progress and the next step of the work.In order to support MMS and WAP-PUSH applications and provide many kinds of characteristic functions and two access methods of WEB and WAP, many methods and technologies are involved in this system. In the software structure, protocol-mapping modules are used to communicate with the external entities, so the main module STU doesn't need to follow the changes of the external interfaces. FIFO (First-In First-Out) mechanism is applied to the communication among the underlying modules, and socket pool mechanism is applied to the...
