Research And Design Of The Personal Portal Platform On JXTA

With the socialization of network changing to the personal networking, the Internet mainly focus on the individual rather than the content, which has been regarded as medium. After the birth of WEB2.0, a brand new portal which has many characters such as individuation, socialization, has been put to a remarkable level. And also, it is a widely known word for all of us.Since the WEB2.0 is still in an early stage, it has not been defined perfectly but just summarized several new items. Currently, there are some applications of WEB2.0 including SNS(Social Network Service), Blog(Weblog), Wiki, RSS(Rich Site Summary) and so on. And we usually use some of them together, in order to provide more convenience to the customer.The background and characteristics were discussed in this thesis, and a new individual portal platform was brought on through compare and analysis on several common applications on WEB2.0,. The Portal was used as container and Ajax was used to lay out the content and JXTA was the basis of the platform. The superiority of these technologies and the usage of them were introduced especially.In the end , I focused on the structure, design, module interaction of the personal portal platform, which based on the JXTA. The new pattern of individual portal has many traits compared to those old patterns: everyone can run the personal portal on their own computers; the platform only provides some basic services with high expansibility; consumers can create some individual service; it is not necessary to access each other through servers among the consumers; however, the servers are optional which can be used to backup some personal information.
