Research And Implementation Of SIP Based Conference System

Conference system is aimed to provide synchronize group communication between people in different areas. Based on the evolution of telecom switch technologies, as a kind of high level application, the conference system has also experienced an evolution, which is from the stage of circuit switch to the one of packet switchs. At present, as the rapid development of IP network, the IP based conference system is more and more popular. However, the traditional conference system based on circuit switch technology(H.320 system) is still the leading type of conference system. This type of conference system depends on specific hardware, so it isn't adaptive and scalable, besides, it is also high cost. As an alternative, SIP based conference system appears simple and adaptive, which is easy to implement a software IP conference system. On the other side, SIP is a relatively new protocol used to manage and control multimedia sessions, which is regardless of the session type. SIP is widely used in NGN and 3G IMS system, so it's a very promising protocol. On this point of view, it's valuable to research SIP based conference system.In this paper, several possible conference system network topologies are analyzed based on the protocol features of SIP. After that, the detailed analysis of centralized conference model is given, and presents an innovative conference model based on functional platform, the prototype implementation of the model is also discussed. At last, a compare between this with the traditional system is given out.
