Almost all communications systems in use today employ a sinusoid as an elementary waveform, on which information is mapped via some fort of modulation. But UWB technology is absolutely different, by the use of ultra-short pulse. Due to the baseband pulses of short duration and therefore UWB spreads energy over a wide range of spectrum, and many advantages of UWB systems are the potential for very high data rates at low power operation and the possibility for real time sub-decimeter positioning. The power spectral density of time-hopping (TH) UWB signals plays a major role in key aspects like coexistence with conventional radio systems.In order to understand UWB telecommunication better, the basis knowledge of UWB wireless communication is introduced in the first of this paper, such as the theory of UWB, basis impulse waveform, modulation technology of UWB and so on. The paper analyses and deduces the temporal expression and PSD of multiplicate typical UWB signal. PPM-TH-UWB and PAM-DS-UWB are the object in the research of paper. B PAM-TH-UWB ut we emphasize the relative knowledge of UWB. On the basis of above theory, we can simulate by the use of MATLAB to testify the correctness of theory. The paper introduced the relative content of receiver for multiple pulse signals, and gives comparation of bit-error-rate under the different pulse repeat frequency, modulation means and different modulation by MATLAB simulation.
