And at present, USB port has become a kind of standard port.Compared with parallel and serial port, USB has its own excellence: high transferrate, low cost, Plug & Play, easy-of-use. USB is a typical conjoint system withsoftware and hardware. In addition, along with the widely use of the embeddedsystem, it becomes indispensable to apply USB to the embedded system, in orderto offer convenient and dependable service.At the same time, for the embedded navigation display and control platformsystem, it is very discommodiousness for the programmers to replace the softwarein unites debugging and the data of ECDIS .And this causes the defacing ofequipment and the wrong operation, omitting and losing of the components. Inaddition, disassembly of the DOC on the equipmentis a difficulty technique. These all cause waste of manpower, material resourcesand also time. And there is inadequate monitoring of the important data.Take the problem we met when debugging the navigation display and controlplatform, and aim for the solving the problem of substitution and monitoring ofthe system, the main work is as follows.Firstly, this paper introduces USB bus system, and give a particular introduce ofthe tiered star bus topology. Characteristic, the hierarchy on the host and theprinciple and function in each hierarchy, data transfer types. The transfer of thefiles between navigation display and control platform and USB device.And then, this paper introduce the Tornado/VxWorks embedded system, its crossdevelopment, its device driver. And the block device driver is especiallyintroduced.Based on this, the USB software development technique in embedded system isintroduced detailedly.
