The array-based high resolution direction-finding(DF) techniques are new techniques which are developed from the beamforming techniques, the null pre-processing techniques and the estimation techniques. The main objective is to study all kinds of algorithms improving the performance of DF and the speed of operation. After 40 years' researching, the experts of all over the world in this field have proposed a number of algorithms and investigated their performances. This dissertation studies some problems related to the algorithms and the array configuration using the theory associated with the computer simulations as follows:This paper analyzes the influence upon the traditional MUSIC algorithm at first, all of the research work is based on the MATLAB software environment.And MUSIC algorithm is asked to use the academic foundation of the smart antenna in estimation of DOA in the project of software wireless flatform. Aiming at the step of MUSIC algorithm one by one, this paper put forward a scheme in DSP software environment, which joins with hardware platform, then realize applications of theory upon engineering.Owing to cannot estimate the DOA of coherent signals, this paper presented three decorrelation coherent sources method: the spatial smoothing and modified MUSIC and the spatial filtering. Although the spatial smoothing solved the problem of coherent sources, but aperture of array is reduced. Modified MUSIC algorithm has less compute and spatial filtering has stronger power of decorrelation coherent but need more compute and preliminary estimation, when Modified MUSIC algorithm is compared with spatial filtering algorithm.
