Array signal processing technology is an important subject in the field of signalprocessing, which is widely used in communications, radar, sonar and electroniccountermeasure etc. The DOA estimation algorithms based on array signal processing canresolve the DOA of multiple signals from various directions simultaneously with highresolution. After40years’ researching, the experts of all over the world in this field haveproposed a number of algorithms and investigated their performances. In this paper, someproblems related to the algorithms and the array configuration has been studied using thetheory associated with the computer simulations. The main contents of this research are asfollows:Based on the classical MUSIC algorithms analyzes the objective influence upon theclassical MUSIC algorithm performance, and all the research work is based on the MATLABsoftware environment. Due to failing to estimate the DOA of coherent signals using theMUSIC algorithm. Therefore, this article is based on the principle of the MUSIC algorithmimprovements, introduced the spatial smoothing and modified MUSIC algorithm and theToeplitz matrix algorithm which based on the array model. And the Toeplitz matrix algorithmnot only has the advantage of Modified MUSIC algorithm, but also achieved little arraymodels and multiple signals, and in the circumstance of lower SNR(signal-noise-ratio),performance is better. In addition, this paper studied the High-Order Cumulant signals based on the traditionalDOA estimation algorithm. The DOA estimation based on Gaussian noise under unknownconditions made a detailed introduction, and based on fourth-order cumulant MUSICalgorithm, the algorithm proposed an improved fourth-order MUSIC algorithm,in order toremove large amounts of data redundancy. Simulation results show that algorithm canaccurately estimate the DOA of the signal, and the higher the order, the better the estimate.
