As the main equipment for reducing ship roll, the drive system of the stabilizer fin used to be electric-hydraulic servo system in recent years. With the fast development of the electromechanical integration, it was possible that using electric-mechanical servo system as the drive equipment of the stabilizer fin. This paper was written in this background.At first, the recent AC servo system was analyzed while load characteristic and work environment of the stabilizer fin was combined. Due to the request of power and moment, and the other request of capability target, the different part of the stabilizer fin was chosen. Then by analyzing the load characteristic of fin stabilizer and the current executor, the mathematical model of the stabilizer fin was established. In order to satisfy the request of lower error and fast response, a control policy which AC servomotor was controlled by applying electric current loop, speed loop, and position loop in the servo system was offered. At last, simulation was been done in MATLAB to debug the parameters of the classical PID controller, and analyze the results.The results of the system simulation were very good. The results of simulation met the demands of drive system of the fin stabilizer. The results of simulation showed that it was feasible to use electric servo system as the drive system of the stabilizer fin, and the controllers of this paper had favorable capability.
