The risk faced by information security has infiltrated into society economy, military, national security, intellectual property, trade security and personal privacy. Network security is always the key issue of computer network and its application. Traditional theory and technology of network security have three insuperable flaws. Firstly, centralized control method is incompetent to distributed network environment; Secondly, isomorphs of network structure can't prevent the rapid and extensive spread of suspicious intrusion and virus; Finally, because the threat and technology of network security can't adapt to the changeful network environment. So current network security theory and technology can't solve the network security problem by themselves and the new network security theory is essential.Network Survivability breaks limits of traditional network security concepts, and emphasizes the abilities of network and information systems to achieve their main missions in a timely manner, while they are suffering from attacks, faults, or accidents. Main idea of survivability is that the systems can achieve their main missions, and timely recovery the damaged services, even after intrusions succeed, the main components are damaged or destroyed. Network survivability has become a new direction of studies on network security.Firstly, this dissertation studies the interrelated domains of network survivability, including backgrounds, main differences from traditional network security concepts, definition elements, applying domains, common acknowledgements, developing trends, implementing methods, etc, and builds a systematic theory framework of studies on network survivability. Secondly, under the direct of these theories discussed above, this dissertation analyses the security shortcomings of formal network services model, and proposes a survivable services model. Finally, this dissertation discusses system design, module design in details.
