The paper introduces the concept of harmonics and the harm of harmonics,and demonstrates the necessity of harnessing harnonics,and briefly introduce several methods of harnessing harnonics. With this understanding, The paper introduces the advantages and disadvantages of passive power filter and active power filter and analyzes the principle and structure of APF-PF hybrid filter equipment. A novel design of APF-PF hybrid filter equipment based on two DSPs is proposed.The principle and main-structure of the APF-PF hybrid filter equipment is discussed, focusing on the correlated problems of reactive power and harmonic compensation. In corresponding to the asymmetrical and distorted source voltage, a new compenstation strategy based on a-b-c reference frame is proposed througth the comparing with several normal compensation methods of harmonics. The topology of the 3-phase 3-wire voltage-type active power filter is analyzed, and a novel control strategy is developed, which can realize correlation control and minimize the composite error of source current at the same time.A full digital control system based on DSPs is built with TMS320LF2407 and TMS320VC33. Some parts of main circuits and control circuits have been designed. The main circuit emulations have been done with SIMULATE, and the experiment system is constructing to verify the feasibility of the control strategy.
