Electromagnetic interference of electronic device, generated by harmonic, is serious. Research on harmonic suppression has an important significance in industry and national defence fields. This paper deals mainly with the study of harmonic suppression of electronic device. At first, the definition of harmonic and harmonic source is definitely explained. A new uniformly quantization method of effect of harmonic suppression in power system and electromagnetic fields is proposed. The effect of harmonic on power factor of electronic equipment is formulated. Criterion of harmonic suppression in military and civil fields is showed and conversion result between the two test standards in frequency domain is given. Next, based on simplified equivalent model of power section in the electronic equipment, the mechanism of generating harmonic in the capacitive rectifier is formulated under the condition of system impedance. Characteristics of voltage and current harmonic sources are made clear. At last, by comparing topological filter circuit of capacitive rectifier, the best passive harmonic suppression method of single-phase circuit is determined Against the drawback of general passive filter circuit, a novelty suppression circuit using autoformer as inductor is originally represented. The circuit is implemented to suppress low-frequency single-order harmonic of voltage harmonic source and its validity is verified by simulation analysis and experimental circuit.
