The video monitor system is an important part of security defense system, which is a skillful integrated defense system. Video monitor system is widely used in a lot of occasion, for its intuition and convenience. Recently, Video monitor system has been well developed along with a very fast speed development of the technology of computer, network and image processing, from traditional analog technology for modern digital technology. Embedded digital Video monitor system is the fastest development part of the domain of digital security defense system.The embeded system based on Video monitor designed ago is mostly based on the ARM and DSP dual-core architecture. The ARM core is used in control and a few data processing. The DSP core is mainly used in digital processing. But the mainly drawback of this dual-core architecture is very complexity since there are a lot of communication and correspond between the daul-core. The overdraw of the system is really large. This thesis develops a new embedded system based on single core architechture which use the ASIC implementing the coding of the MPEG-4. The architechture of this system is very simple and stable.Firstly, this thesis introduce the background of this paper and the significance of theoretical and practical, then summarize the embedded system based in remotion video monitor and introduce the development in some relating field. Based on above, it introduce the collectivity design of the system. Following contribute to the clipping design of the embedded operation system, the design of video processing module, the design of the interface of Ethernet, we take some test and analysis over the system designed by us. Finally it is the end of this thesis. In this part we discuss the future development of the embedded video monitor system.
