Internet changed computer world, XML changed Internet. XML, which is distributed by W3C organization, is playing an increasingly import role in exchange of a wide variety of data on the web and elsewhere. Further more it brings much new technology to computer industry.XML is an Extensible Markup Language, it not only brings a new language to us but also brings much new technology. For example, it brings us the XSLT for exchanging data between different databases; it brings us the WML, which provides a credible information language for wireless website and the specified XML-VoiceXML and MathXML bring new solution to special application.XML' s appearance accelarates exchange of data, especially in E-Business industry. But how can we chase the procedure of these exchange and variety? It' s neccesary to chase these changes when a document is refered by multiple user in short period.The distributed document management system designed in this paper provides a solution to the problem. This system fits XML very well. It' s based on socket comunication, developped in C# and can be easily used. It provides a safe, credible and norestraint information platform to enterprise user. Above all this system brings version control to E-Business application, enable user to chase the change of electonic business document. This advantage bring a new idea to E-Business industry. Further more, this paper provides a stress test solution, which can test and improve the capacity of a system, for socket based distributed system.The content of the thesis can be described as following:At first, introduce the XML, version control and their advantages.Then, introduce the details of technology and algorithm used in distributed document management system.At last, describes the implementation of main module of distributed document management system in UML and C# source.The main contribution in this thesis can be concluded as following:1.
