Inspecting the parts with free-form surface with traditional tools at present, to a certain degree, it is difficulty, long periods and imprecise with traditional tools. So this paper searches for an effective method to replace the traditional tools during the course of manufacture.On researching of the Reverse Engineering, this paper presents the method of inspecting the quality of the free-form surface based on 3D scanning technology. Along with the development of the computer science, the technology of inspection and graphics, Reverse Engineering has been applied widely, and 3D scanning based on Reverse Engineering has been developed rapidly. In virtue of the method, this paper designs the process of inspection for the complicated surface effectively and economically in digitalization and visualization.It is the basic principle inspecting the quality of the free-form surface based on 3D scanning that compares the points cloud of solid scaned with the CAD prototype of the part. This paper expatiates in details the related key techniques, such as composition of the hardware and software system, scanning and modifying the points cloud, aligning the points cloud with surface of the CAD prototype of the part, and designing the report of inspection and the color plot of error. This paper also develops an integrated management system for the inspection of the part with Micosoft Visual C++.At last, this paper illustrates three representative examples so as to validate the method is scientific and feasible. |
