The ABS(Auto Braking System) is an important device during the train braking process. So the device's working reliability is an important foundation for train's driving safety. The device consists of mainframe,velocity sensors,braking components etc. Velocity sensors are key components which can ensure ABS working normally. The ABS'mainframe can get train's velocity and acceleration from the velocity sensors, and then accomplishes some certain braking actions in term of them. But velocity sensors are easier damaged because of its special installing position and working environment. The mainframe of ABS only can diagnose some simple faults, for example, the short circuit and open circuit. So this can result in the wrong action of ABS and become the hidden trouble of train driving safety.In this paper, the two kinds of sensor mainly used, SWKP IG 20 and G16 are introduced. And the performance testing system of the two kinds of sensor is designed in terms of occurring troubles during the practice. The testing system consists of two parts, the hardware and the software. A detecting equipment is designed in the hardware, which can identify frequently appeared problems of the sensors. The software system is developed based on Visual C++ 6.0 and Microsoft Access. The database function is achieved by adopting the database accessing technology of MFC ODBC. The software consists of main interface module,data acquisition module,data analysis module,database operation module and report forms print module etc。Many functions are realized in the software,for example,data acquisition and waveform real time display,the display and storage of the detecting result. The records saved in the database can be browsed,queried,deleted and printed in certain report form.
