The Design And Implementation Of Digital Tourism System Based On B/S Structure

Digital Tourism is an important application of the computer technology in tourism, which plays more and more important role in modern tourism. The previous Digital Tourism System (DTS), which is based on the C/S (Client/Server) structure and traditional GIS technology, is inefficient in transaction processing as well as in the function of the network and portability. So, it can't yet satisfy the request of era, and can't accord with the development of the software technology. DTS, which based on GIS and B/S (Browser/Server) structure, is the whole new solution to solve all problems that we now face.Firstly, this article systematically discusses the current status, characteristics and future trend of the DTS. It analyzes the problems that exist in the available tourism systems and points out that by using the popular B/S structure and planning the systems'development, network management and security, the DTS could be used to effectively combine visitors with tourism enterprises, which digitalize the information services and resource managements, and finally leads to the sustainable development of the tourism.Secondly, this article elaborates the development of network computing mode and compares C/S structure with B/S structure. The fast development of the information technology propels the replacing of the computing mode. From the host-terminal mode in singular computer era to Client/Server mode in C/S era and then to Browser/Server mode in E-commercial era, the computing mode has taken a great change.
