This dissertation presents the design and investigation of an embedded check processing system. The system is developed based on high performance embedded processor and DSP processor. The Digital image processing technology, pattern recognition technology, and embedded Linux are employed in the system. This system could not only pre-process the BMP file of banking check but also recognize its pattern both through the network. It possesses the advantages of small package, low power consuming, and high reliability.Chapter 1 comprehensively describes the aim of the research project and the recent research level of check processing system, embedded system and related digital image processing & pattern recognition technology.Chapter 2 introduces the software development environment and the programming techniques adopted in the system. It includes both compile environment and embedded linux.Chapter 3 presents the architecture of the software solution and briefly introduces the features of each software module.Chapter 4 presents the solution of communication software in detail.Chapter 5 presents the solution of processing software in detail and introduces related arithmetic design. .Chapter 6 explains the software test method. For further, test solution and test cases targeted on this system are presented with the final test result.Chapter 7 summarizes the research conclusion and investigates the further development of the system.
