There are various texture on surfaces of objects in the impersonal actuality. The rendering of texture is significant in enhanncing realistic figures,it is a important field of computer graphics as well. The surface texture of object can be classified as geometry texture and color-class texture. The color texture embodies the details of object surfaces by changing the hue or brightness, which lies on optical attributes of the object surfaces. Geometry texture is constituted by anomalous small bumpiness,it lies in microcosmic geometrical form.The paper reviews some methods of geometry texture, including bump mapping method, displacement mapping method, 2D-based method, 3D-based method, etc. The research is emphasized on the method of BTF and its application to the rendering surface texture of orange with small bumps. For protuberance on the surface of balsam pear and mealie, texture rendering is also examined, by applying the techniques of quadric surface modeling and shade rendering. The rendering is implemented in VG++ and OpenGL, based on BTF database and NURBS. The results of our experiments indicate the practicality of the rendering techniques.
