The rendering of realistic images is always a difficult job in computer graphic. In this thesis, we do some studies including Bi-Directional ray tracing, algorithm of mesh simplification and rendering of realistic animated grass.The traditional algorithm of ray tracing can solve the scene of mirror-mirror. While it can't solve the scene of mirror-diffuse. In order to solve this problem, we introduce the algorithm of Bi-Directional ray tracing. Based on the traditional ray tracing, Bi-Directional ray tracing add positive direction to the old one. We present the Bi-Directional ray tracing algorithm and give the result of experiment.Surface mesh simplification play an important role in the fields of the quantity of transmissions, storage of 3D objects and multi-model display. We present new method of face cluster, carry out the OCtree to divide the space, put triangle mesh into different space, then cluster the triangle mesh in the same space. So it can accelerate the speed of the whole cluster. After space division, extracts features in every region and triangulates them by constrained delaunay triangulation.Generation of realistic images of grass scenes is always a challenging problem. The structures of grass are in general very complex, carrying on various category features. To meet the requirement in both storage and computation, various construction tools and rendering techniques are provided to deal with different vegetation objects. In this paper,We use skeletons point to generate grass blades. In order to get animation effect, we add particle to every blade of grass, then we use real time collusion detection between stone object and every particle of blade to present animated grass.
