With the rapid development of the embedded system and wireless communication having become the new technical trend, the characteristic of the embedded system is mini-type, special used, portable, high-reliable, so which is widely applied in these fields, for example, long-distance monitoring, remote data acquisition and control, etc.With the function of the task that the embedded system works on growing, the traditional 8-bit MCU can't content the request of the application. And System procedure are more and more complicate, thus the reliability and stability of system is difficult to be guaranteed with the traditional approach to program. It is the effective way of solving the problem that using the embedded operating system as the software platform. In this design, ARM microprocessor is selected in the hardware platform. ARM processor is a kind of advanced 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor accredited in this field. The real-time operating system μC/OS-II is adopted in the software platform. Operating Systems can simplify the design by dividing the application into some tasks. μC/OS-II is a kind of Multi-tasks, real-time and operation system which is especially designed for the microprocessor. It has many advantages, for example, its kernel source code is open, it is easy to learn, and it can be easily transplanted.In this paper, the main content is designing general communications platform based on ARM microprocessor LPC2210 and embedded RTOS μC/OS-II, expatiating the technology of realization and problems associated. LPC2210 selected in the design is 16/32 bit microprocessor produced by PHILIPS Company, which is the core processor of the system and providing good hardware base. Graphics lattice LCD display module is usually used in ARM embedded application as man-machine conversation interface, SMG240128A is a kind of LCD controller produced by SAMSUNG Company that have strong function. This paper introduces the application of it in LPC2210 embedded system. HAC-uM96 UART wireless module is selected as wireless transmission part, which can transmit data transparently. Thisproject realizes the framework and software design.This paper is composed with four parts thereinafter: Firstly, we summarize the embedded system and some common design methods of the embedded system are introduced and give out the corresponding flowchart, and adopt ARM7TDMI kernel by analyzing ARM7 kernel .Secondly, in here, the function, construction and work principle of units that built the system will be explained in detail, which meeting the demand of system. Thirdly, the design of the software platform is expatiated. This part states transplanting of operating system, the programming of device driver and multi-tasks application by uC/OS-II OS .analyzes the design process of every part code and provides the flow chart and some source codes with final system testing. The last, summarizing the total project and give the direction of the further study.
