| Mobile Ad Hoc network (MANET) becomes more and more popular in recent years as a kind of wireless network architecture. Mobile IP has been applied to support mobility management in wireless network for nodes moving freely. With the development of the research of various technologies, the automatic address assignment is a problem that still has not been resolved in mobile Ad Hoc network. Dynamic Addressing is an effective way to manage the address resource in mobile Ad Hoc network. The application of integrating Mobile IP with Ad Hoc network is presented in this paper, and how to automatic address assignment in MANET is discussed. This paper is organized as follows:1. According to the characteristics of Ad Hoc network, the basic concept of Mobile IP is presented, and its application in the MANET in detail is introduced. Diagrams of Mobile IP software realization and the hardware fixture in experiment are given.2. The various existing address assignment protocols are introduced. Their characteristics are analyzed and compared. The improved SONAM solution is proposed, and compared with other addresses assignment protocols through simulation. |
