Applied Research Of Mobile Internet Protocol In Ad Hoc Network

Along with fast development of the computer network and the mobile communication technology, the more and more computer users hope that personal computer is as same as mobile telephone which performs roaming function, visits each kind of network resources conveniently. However the most widespread TCP/IP network protocol stack did not consider about the mobilized problem when it was designed. Therefore the personal computers can not provide transparent support to the mobilized host.Mobile IP by IETF is wireless access technology which support mobile hosts with IP protocol, which insure that communication of mobile host is not interrupted. It is easy for Mobile IP to move and be updated on Internet. It means that mobile hosts communicate with each other although we do not have to modify local host IP address and the architecture of current routing table. Because Mobile IP layer is a lower layer in TCP/IP protocol stack, it provides transparent mobile services for above layer. Mobile Ad Hoc is a new framework of wireless network which presents recently. It is necessary to introduce mobile IP technology in Ad Hoc node, which enables Ad Hoc node being randomly movable.This paper combines Mobile IP and Ad Hoc network efficiently and try to implement Mobile IP protocol in Ad Hoc networks. Firstly we describe the traditional Mobile IP, including the design request of Mobile IP, the design object and the work mechanism; Secondly we introduce the application and the work process of the Mobile IP on the Ad Hoc network in brief; Thirdly we proposes a layered hierarchical Mobile IP technology which is applied the Ad Hoc network that is based on the analysis of the roam and the manage of the switch over section. It effectively solves to the problem about the roam and the switch over sections on Ad Hoc network. At the same time, a new IP Address assignment based on the layered hierarchical Mobile IP protocol is also proposed. At last, the application of the Mobile IP is implemented under the RedHat Linux platform, and the basic functions of the Mobile IP are tested under the test environment.The paper comes from the project called a general high-speed digital radio in Chongqing Longtong Corp.
