Along with the development of Internet, the quantity of Internet users and netwoek flow areincreasing according to exponential rule, which consequentially leads to the conflict betweennetwork resource and network service .So network transfer performance becomes an importantproblem. And the technology of evaluating network performance, especially the technology ofend-to-end network measurement becomes an available research project. There are some shortcomings of the existing tools of end-to-end network measurement inintermational, for example, the traffic stream model is too single,or the measurement is influencedby operation system, etc. And in our country, the development of this kind of tools is a blankfield. On account of this situation,we apply ourselves to research and development a systemnamed Network Performance Tester. Our work purpose bringing forward a detailed scheme of thesystem, and accomplishing a sorftware flame. In this paper,we study detailed of the factors that influence the network transferperformance, such as packet network delay, bottleneck bandwidth, packet lost rate and packeterrors, etc.A distributed environment for measurements is built in this system, and we use a perfectarithmetic discovered by some international experts to analyze the result from original data, butnot with the help of some expensive equipment. In detail, our research focuses on the followingprojects:the building of traffic stream model, the software flame of integrative source terminal, themethod of analyzing the transfer performance and the precision in the measurement.Lots ofexperiments have been done in the research of system.and the results on LAN and WAN showthat the system is accomplished in expectation.
