In corporation information systems, TCP/IP Ethernet has become the virtualstandard network. If the standard TCP/IP can be extended to industrial real-timecontrol, it will be great helpful for users to implement the solution of integration offactory automation and corporation information. EtherNet/IP is the technologydesigned for this purpose. It is the combination of TCP/IP Ethernet and commonindustry protocol. In the last few years, the industrial Ethernet has been used more andmore widely. At the same time, the controller and the executor have various methodsto access Ethernet.In order to improve the ability of these devices, various embeded OS runs on them.Out of all these OS, more and more attention is payed to linux, for linux has opensource, easily to be configured, and can be complied into a very small executableimage.In this paper, great details are illuminated about the software and hardwareproblem in designing a embeded system , and then a real design is given. At thesame time, the real-time solution suggested during the development of industrialEthernet are implied in our design.
