Presently, international affairs are imbroglio and intricacy, energy crisis increasingly prominence, and the bottle-neck of energy resource has been becoming one of the main ingredients, which restricts the continuable development of national economic. It is instancy need to increase the energy utilization efficiency in industry and agricultural production. Therefor, this paper presents a voltage type general inverter, based on the actuality of the AC electric drive systems in the domestic. This paper firstly introduces three kinds of PWM method, widely used in the engineering practice. Depend on their relative merits, SVPWM algorithm has been selected for the general inverter. Then, the technique of software implementation on the TMS320LF2407A, DSP produced by Texas Instruments Incorporated, is presented. For the requirement of the majority of present electric drive systems in the domestic, this dissertation gives an outline of V/F control, and the open-loop V/F control is carried out on the inverter. While, because of the requirement of high-performance AC governing characteristic in certain occasions, as well as the disadvantage of traditional closed-loop vector control algorithm have to install speed sensor in the motor, this paper presents the algorithm of sensor-less based on the extended kalman filter (EKF), which is rifely concerned by the field. And the simulation system is also constructed by the MATLAB7.0, produced by MythWorks Incorporated, and does some helpful research for the further development of this inverter. The general inverter designed in this dissertation is a 220V voltage type AC-DC-AC modal. It is designed by modularization method, and divided into six parts, such as operating panel, power board, arithmetic and control board, power module, sample circuit board and pc control loop. The hardware composing and software design of each part has given particular expatiation. Due to properly select the components, such as dot-matrix LCM, intelligent power module (IPM), high performance DSP and hall sensor etc, throughout the modular design, the inverter has the advantage of simple structure, high price-performance ratio etc. It is proved that the general inverter could work stabilization, and has good speed regulation performance, which is making a consistent foundation for the further development of high-performance sensor-less vector control inverter.
