The intelligent quantitative test of Gold Immunochromatographic Assay (GICA) provides a new effective biomedical detection to achieve an exact test for GICA strip, which meets the needs in the reformation of the medical system in our country for its convenience and lower cost. A new concept and idea based on the detection of Integrated Optical Density (IOD) was put forward in the paper, based on the pre-research work at Biomedical Instrument Research Institute of Fuzhou University. The concept and idea combined with the digital image processing, modern signal processing, and the quantitative detection of GICA to complete the design of the intelligent quantitative test instrument for the GICA strip with the TMS320F2812 DSP and the μC/OS-Ⅱ RTOS, and achieve an accurately quantitative test of GICA. The main research work in this paper is as follows: (1) To introduce briefly the theory of GICA and its current development situation, and analyze the principle of quantitative detection of GICA. The feasibility and the validity of the intelligent quantitative test of GICA based on the detection of integrated optical density were studied in detail. (2) To introduce briefly the principle of the CCD image sensor. The drive impulse for the CCD drivers and the pretreatment for the CCD output signal were analyzed carefully. And the way that completed the design of the new-type intelligent quantitative test instrument was home studied. (3) To study the detailed designs for the intelligent quantitative test instrument, such as the department of photoelectric signal detection, data collection, data transmission, and so on. (4) To introduce an effective technique to filter the noise, according to the behavior characteristics of the detecting image of the GICA strip. A method that provided the particular singularity detection and acquired the data of testing line accurately was further discussed. (5) To complete the design of the software and the hardware for the intelligent quantitative test instrument with the TMS320F2812 DSP and the μC/OS-Ⅱ RTOS. The test instrument achieved the intelligent quantitative detection of GICA.
