Wireless positioning is capable of providing the real-time location information of the mobile station. With the development of wireless technology, a rapid advancement of the wireless location positioning technology has been achieved, and the applications and services of wireless positioning have been used widely.The position of objects in some specific instances can be ascertained by distance measurement. This paper introduces a remote phase synchronization method and a high-accurate distance measurement method based on the remote phase synchronization method. By simulating these methods, the stability condition of remote phase synchronization method and the accuracy and error source of distance measurement method can be obtained.This paper also investigates the algorithm of TDOA (Time Difference-of-Arrival) parameters estimation and location calculation. Because of vehicle running on vehicles running on roads and railways which have knew tracks, this paper improves the algorithm of TDOA position method location calculation and gives the condition about base stations location. This algorithm effectively reduces the complexity of TDOA position system.Based on this algorithm, this paper designs a wireless positioning system that can be used widely at moving objects that run on roads or sail in rivers. This paper also realizes some key technologies of this wireless positioning method, such as picking up TDOA parameters estimation by low performance FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) device, and fabricates a prototype wireless location positioning system at last.Lots of testing results prove that the prototype wireless positioning system can work correctly and efficiently. In addition, it reduces the amount of the base stations, simplifies the system structure and has a very rapid response time.
