The laser processing technology based on digital image processing is a new studying area nowadays. The purpose of this paper is to provide a series of digital image processing method for the JPG file format transformed to PLT one , which meets present requirement of laser marking for vector graphics. Further more, this method can transform the JPG file format to DXF one which is a kind of Drawing exchange file of AutoCAD software, and user can consummate the graphics depending on the AutoCAD. The JPG file format is one of the most popular memory formats for the digital image, which is also applied for the mass of digital cameras. This paper firstly analyzes the standard of JPEG coding. After mastering the JPG file format, we covert the JPG file to the BMP one which visual c++ software system provides many API functions. Secondly, distill the object of the whole image by the clipboard, which can improve the image processing quality. Thirdly, use some methods of digital image processing , such as binary image,filtering,contour extraction,thinning,curve fitting and so on, create one aggregate of many beelines, and then build the PLT or DXF file according to PLT and DXF file format. At the same time, the paper presents one method of making the TrueType font transform to the vector contour or single-stroke one. First is inputting the English letters or Chinese via the keyboard, and then edit them by the way of deltoid storeroom provided by the Windows system, get the contour or single-stroke font also by using above-mentioned method of digital image processing. This research expatiates on one method about transforming the JPG file to vector graphics by the way of digital image processing. This method makes the laser marking not depend on the AutoCAD anymore, and becomes a new way to get the vector graphics for laser marking.
