With the rapid development and widely application of wired network, the wireless network which is convenient, flexible and advantageous is also rapid developed. Wireless network techonology solves the limitation of "Wire" of wired network and has many strongpoints, because of this, wireless LAN has become the alternative of wired LAN. Relative to wired LAN, wireless LAN has special characters, so we need management software to manage the wireless LAN. Wireless network management software gives a company the ability to get the best possible performance and tightest security from their wireless LAN. In this paper, according to the requirement of wireless LAN management, we design and implement a wireless LAN management system and focus on the problem of device communication and user authentication which I participated in.According to analysis of characters which wireless LAN has, explain the reason of establishing wireless LAN management system. Details the management problems of wireless LAN, then new definition the architecture and function of wireless LAN management system is presented. In the wireless LAN management system, ComServer which is one part of the architecture implement the communication between system and device. According to introduction of function and architecture of ComServer, analyse the requirement of communication between system and device, base on this, we definite the protocol of DMCP (Device Management Communication Protocol) to implement the function of communication, then design and implement it. DMCP is the important part and creation in wireless LAN management system.According to requirement of user management and the security problems in wireless LAN management system, definite the authentication architecture of system, decide to use WEB and 802.1x authentications and use Radius Server to authenticate, use this architecture to implement flexible and safe user authentication.
