The Design And Implementation Of VoIP Gateway Communication Based On VxWorks Computer Network

With the development and improvement of Voice Over IP technology, not only individual users traffic continued to rise, more and more enterprises demand for IP phones is increasing. For enterprises, the use of VPN technology to access the remote VOIP system gateways within the enterprise IP telephone network, to build a virtual internal telephone system, not only saves a lot of money for the enterprise, but also the management of the enterprise has brought obvious convenience. Thus, VOIP system devices support the VPN technical in the field of IP telephony applications become the focus of attention of corporate customers.For the sensitive voice messages, ensuring the secure transmission is very necessary.At present, most VOIP system gateways support L2TP technology protocol and are able to achieve the basic requirements for building a virtual internal telephone system.However, because the L2TP technology Protocol itself doesn't has data security protection mechanisms, even if using encryption or compression mechanism provided by PPP, we can only achieve a weak security communications.In this paper,after research, analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of several common VPN technology, based on the context of this topic VOIP system gateway hardware platform characteristics, we proposed a project of using L2TP technology + IPSEC under the VxWorks Operating System to secure the VPN communication and had already implemented the project.The project finished such issues as follows:●Designed and implemented L2TP technology Client according to L2TP technology protocol specification and VxWorks Remote PPP Access Framework.●Designed and implemented IPSEC module at the IP-layer of VxWorks operating, and elaborated the process of design and implemention.●Proposed and implemented L2TP technology + IPSEC client under the VxWorks Operating System. Elaborated the process of combining and cooperating L2TP technology Model with IPSEC Model to realise the secure communication of L2TP technology+IPSEC.This system had successfully running on the latest VOIP system Gateway of the Company. It has excellent application prospects.
