The Design And Realization Of The Campus Web-based Instructional System Based On Multicast

With the development of information technology, especially the computer technology,multi-media technology and communication technology, as a new type education form,web-based education emerges as the times require and develops day after day. However thecurrent network bandwidth can not meet the demand of the transferring of multi-mediaresources because of multi-media resources' big data and timing. In order to solve thisproblem, we bring forward the transferring via multicast.Multicast came up in the eighties of last century, but is not wildly used because ofcarious reasons. On reading a lot of literatures and doing a lot of experiments, the authordesigns the campus network teaching system based on multicast.In this paper, the author fist analyses the problems in the transferring of multi-media inthe modern web-based education, and then introduces the definition,character,protocol ofmulticast. In the end of the dissertation, the author brings forward the design of the campusnetwork teaching system based on multicast. This paper introduces the teaching systemfrom the following for aspects: the building of multi-media file, the publishing ofmulti-media file, the playing of the multi-media file and the management of the system.After we put the system in trial, we found out: the campus network teaching system basedon multicast can overcome the defect of unicast and makes the transferring of themulti-media resources fluently, so they can meet the demand of the learners. And theinterface of the system is simple according with the habit of the learners.
