How does a better design multimedia learning environment conform to humancognitive mechanism? How to test and revise the correlated design principle in practice?When the concept presents by the multimedia form, these present the form whether canpromotes the learner thoroughly study? How the people to use the words and pictures tolearn? What is the best way of designing multimedia messages? These problems are all thefocus of this study.This thesis through (1)literature methodology;(2) Case study;(3) action research;(4)launch the instructional experiment;( 5) informal discussion and questionnaire. Summarizeand review in the concrete practice, study the theory principle to prove and improve aboutrelevant multimedia.Since the 1990s, about this field, Richard E. Mayer who is a professor has conductedmuch science fruitful research. This thesis has carried on systematic summary and analysisto the research results of this field at present, its result includes ten principle of multimedialearning messages design and the cognitive theory of multimedia learning.We learn in discovering the multimedia learning messages design relevant disciplinesthat need to combine cognitive psychology, technological sciences, pedagogy, draw thefollowing conclusions: (1) The media can influence the learner's study;(2) Optimize themultimedia messages design, will promote the learner's cognitive development and problemsolving;(3) Should design following "Theory-based " and another threads " Research-based" in good design of multimedia massages;(4) It has ten design principles and a cognitivetheory of the design of multimedia messages;(5) The final goal that multimedia messagesare designed should systematization and optimization of design principle according toexperimental research and comprehensive theory;(6) The goal of study of multimedialearning is usually led to meaningful learning.
