Its main thesis as follows:(1) This article discusses the current status and development of the database based on the geotechnical database information management and feasibility. The rapid development of information technology economically, theoretically, technically and engineering applications that four aspects of the geotechnical data management feasibility.(2) Brief introduction to the basic concepts of the database, a database system from the database, multiple user applications, database management systems (DBMS), computer systems (including hardware and software), human five parts, with the realization of data sharing, reduce redundant data, and maintaining data consistency, data independence, security, confidentiality, parallel control features.(3) It introduces the database development. The database technology made some prospects for the development of the geotechnical database, it can contribute to the Harbin City urbanplanning, design, construction, management.
