Sound signal exists in daily life and industrial process extensively. Because its features of real-time and stability, it is important to fault diagnosis of industrial process. The paper designs an acquisition system for sound signals according to aluminum electrolysis cell, and discusses its realization.The system mainly includes modules of DSP, power, AD conversion, extended memory and USB transportation. DSP module is designed by chose of TI's TMS320VC5402, which is composed of reset circuit, clock circuit, and JTAG interface. TLC320AD50C of TI with McBSP interface is adopted in AD conversion, which mainly realizes analog to data convert and data to analog output, and its connection to DSP. The system extends memory mapped on code area and data area outward, and FLASH is used to save source code, SRAM provides space for program and data. Data transmission is realized by parallel connection of DSP with Philips' PDIUSBD12. Power module provides 1.8V and 3.3 V for the whole circuit.The software is also designed and the software flow charts are given, which includes DSP software, firmware design, device driver and application program. DSP software mainly includes A/D and D/A software. The firmware is the key for the project The idea of program and the hierarchy is described, and then the program design in detail is introduced. The paper chooses WinDriver to design the driver program. Host application program provides a friendly user interface to control the acquisition system and display the data.The paper has finished the design of sound signal acquisition system based on DSP and USB, and realized the sound signal acquisition. Using USB bus to transfer data blazed a way in communication between data acquisition system and computer.
