In this paper, a high-speed signal collection system was designed and made to deal withsound signals and vibration signals. Digital signal processing was applied and USB 2.0 wasused as transport interface so that the system can collect the traffic signals on the high way,ultrasonic signals which are emitted by bats. The design of this system not only economizedcost, but also extended its area of application.The hardware and software of the system were introduced in this paper. The design ofDSP module, programmable logic control module and data transport module were mainlydescribed. In addition, special attention was also given to the problems and experiences indebugging process of the circuit. A simple explanation was made on the software initializationof the hardware circuit. Then Bootloader program was compiled in order to load the FLASH.Firmware program was also compiled and downloaded to EEPROM by I2C. Simple programwas compiled by VC language in order to debug the USB and test speed. Finally, an improvedthinking of the system was put forward and it established a foundation for the systembecoming an expert one in future.
