Water pollution, which imperils the development and living conditions of human beings, has been a main subject in environment protection realm. The water quality monitoring and water quality assessment are one of the most important ways to manage and control the quality of water resources. As a first-phase work of water-quality improvement and water-resources management, they provide a practical scheme and scientific basis for the protection and integrated exploitation.In allusion to the complexity of water entironment and the multi-source of water quality monitoring information , we introduce the multi-source information integration and fusion technology, and bring forward a model of multi-source monitoring information integration and fusion expert system with blackboard architecture. The main contents and conclusions are as follows.Firstly, by analyzing the data monitored by multi-sensor on the ground and the multi-spectrum remote sensing image, the model of multi-source information integration and fusion expert system with blackboard architecture is designed and established. From the angle of integration, it integrates and unifies multi-source information to control the system;From the angle of fusion, it deal with multi-source information and build water quality assessment models. And the classification and layered fusion function of this system is described.Secondly, after adequately analysis on theory and structure of Expert systems, concerning the features of water quality monitoring information and blackboard architecture, we adopt object-oriented knowledge representation technique. Then the composing of the blackboard control module and control flow are detailed.Thirdly, in the background of Tai Lake , we analyse and discuss the knowledge interrelated with water quality monitoring. Then we regard found monitoring information and remote sensor imagine information as original input of the system to do simulation experiment. The experiment results indicate that the multi-source monitoring information integration and fusion expert system is feasible to applied on water quality monitoring, and provides a proven method for indirect water quality monitoring.
