A Discussion On The Roles Performed By People's Livelihood-based TV News Under The Construction Of A Harmonious Society

Building a harmonious society is one historical mission proposed by Chinese new leaders. News media has great impact on building a harmonious society. The author, therefore, is going to deliver his opinions and suggestions by fully discussing the vital role performed by TV News on people's livelihood as far as building a harmonious society is concerned.Based on analyzing the deep cause of the development of TV News on people's livelihood and the relationship between building a harmonious society and the role performed by TV News on people's livelihood, this paper thoroughly studies the important roles performed by TV News on people's livelihood concerning building a harmonious society. And with reference to the distinctiveness of TV News on people's livelihood, this paper puts forward the "three characteristics" which are "people-centered" and "four roles" performed by TV News on people's livelihood. Finally, on the basis of the present situation, this paper summarizes five negative trends facing nowadays' China's TV News on people's livelihood. Furthermore, the author brings forward six suggestions towards that. And which is as follows, to follow the rule of news, to stick to the truth;to attach importance to cultural, rational and constructive factors of the news;to expand news report channels by enlarging report from news on people's livelihood to news on public news;to increase report on "san nong"and focus more on fanners' interests;to keep pace with the times and find a harmonious way to develop ourselves and our society.
