The Development And Application Of TPC-C Testing Toolkits

TPC-C is the most popular international online transaction process(OLTP) benchmark for DBMS.According to the requirements of the national DBMS testing project of863 Program in the Tenth Five-Year Plan Period, the analysis of the TPC-Cbenchmark specification, and the popular implements, we develop the TPC-Ctesting toolkits with owned copyright.The main tasks include: 1) Analyzing current solutions for thepreparation of the test data, designing and implementing an effectivepreparation tool for test data. 2) The System Under Test (SUT) must meet theACID properties according to the TPC-C specification, this paper implementan assistant tool for ACID validation. 3) We implement an lightweightRemote Terminal Emulator tool, and this tool can improve the efficiency ofthe Driver System in TPC-C tremendously. 4) We also introduce the testingactualization of the TPC-C in Oracle platform, by using the three tools asabove, talk about the estimation of the tpmC values during the testingactualization etc.Our toolkits have already applied to the national DBMS testing in 2005.
