With the development of Web Services technology, its availability, reliability and stability have become the research focuses with its service providers and users, and providers need to commit to the users stable and efficient web services. Web Services testing technology has become a research hotspot. The testing of Web Services consists of functional testing and performance testing. At present, most academic research focuses on functional testing area and commercial test systems follow the traditional web application performance testing framework. In performance testing field, there are not sufficient researches.A performance testing method for Web Services is proposed in this paper, and then design and implementation of the method are also given. The method decipts a solution to generate test cases via parsing WSDL file and make test flow by serializing the test cases. And then on the provided basis, the method represents a multi-machine joint testing model and a testing strategy model. The former is used to share the heavy load to multiple units, which could also be called load balance model, and the latter is used to simulate a realistic Web Services running environment making performance testing more relevant, more purposeful, and more accurate. The implementation representation of a prototype system based on this method is also given. According to the verification of prototype system, it supplies the assessment data of processing ability, response time, user load capacity, and other performance indicators to give a conclusive evaluation to the tested Web Service. So the method mentioned in this paper has been proved to be a feasible solution for performance testing for web services.
