Global economy is a trend that can never be reversed. China has constructedbasic Socialistic Market Economy and joined in World Trade Organization(WTO) in 11th November 2001. China's mass media is facing big challengesfrom its western competitors while it is still not ready for it.This thesis mainly focuses on the present situation of China's mass mediaindustry. By comparing and analyzing the differences between China andAmerica's mass media from programming, the way of profiting, restrictionand intendance. The author not only figures out the problems, but alsogives suggestions to the sector.The author puts forward strategies with regards to the China's mass mediaindustry. First and foremost, exploit potential of the industry. Second,cultivate competent people and strengthen education. Then, modify fromadministration control to market control. Last but not least, innovateto market economy step by step. All of these strategies will help Chinamass media industry enlarge its surviving rooms and hold greatopportunities before westerner's invading.
