With the development of society and science & technology, people need more strongly for the scientificalness and democratization of decision. In reality, important decisions are often not just made by one person, but made together by many decision-makers (decision expert group). Moreover, in real world of nowadays, problems faced by people become greater and greater, more and more complicated, and go beyond individual decisive capability by far. During the process of important decisions, to avoid decisive faults, the establishment of decisive projects often need the coordination and cooperation of a decisive group in an organization, and GDSS (Group Decision Support System) is put forward just adapting to the urgent need of the situation. In addition, the informationizational trend, the rapid development of computer, communication technology and expert system technology also drive the traditional DDS to turn to GDSS, and turn GDSS to be a front topic of information area.Moreover, after the society enters into knowledge-based economy era, knowledge becomes more and more important and to be impetus of economy and nucleus power of supporting success. To adapt to the situation, knowledge management emerges as the times require, and its function becomes more and more important. From the opinion of information, knowledge management is based on information management. However, besides managing information, the meaning of knowledge management includes managing human beings. Knowledge management is beyond the scope of information management, its technology, method and instrument are required to be more advanced and perfect. Knowledge management system is more complicated than common information management system and its implementation requires more synthetical and integrated technology.Therefore, when GDSS develops to intelligentization, the research on knowledge and reasoning becomes more and more important. In fact, only when knowledge and reasoning are used on GDSS skillfully can we achieve the objects fixed by decision supporting.In sum, the contents of the paper adapt to the development of knowledge, meet the need of market-oriented economy, and fit to the researching trend of intelligent group decision supporting system.
